Location
Sarah Chudnow Community is located on 19 acres of scenic meadow and woodland in eastern Mequon, just minutes from shopping, restaurants, public and private golf courses, county and city parks, synagogues and Columbia St. Mary’s hospital. While we are less than five minutes from the freeway, our campus is a peaceful park-like setting.
Lifestyle
We offer a wide variety of programs to help keep your mind, body and spirit active. Programs include live musical performances from local, national and international performers. Evenings at the symphony, opera, and musicals are also scheduled throughout the year.
Guest lecturers from our local universities speak on a wide variety of topics ranging from world and national politics and the global economy to health and legal issues. Trips to the movies, museums, and shopping are regular events.
Play cards with your friends, attend a book club meeting, or participate in planning a special celebration. We offer classes on yoga, Tai Chi, and exercise programs for all fitness levels, plus so much more.
Care
Sarah Chudnow offers a full continuum of living and care options in one location. There are 41 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments available for independent or assisted living, an area of 25 studio- and one-bedroom assisted living apartments, 9 studio apartments in the memory care center, and a 25-bed skilled nursing center providing rehabilitation services, long-term care, respite care, and end-of-life care.
Because we offer a full continuum of care ranging from independent Apartments through Skilled Nursing services, we can accommodate virtually any level of care one may require. This means that as your care needs change, your address doesn’t have to. You’ll always have a place at Sarah Chudnow.
Residents living in the Apartments have the availability to purchase nursing assistance and other services on an á la carte basis. Our Assisted Living licensure offers up to 28 hours per week of combined nursing services to meet the needs of individuals who may require assistance with their activities of daily living. Our Memory Care Center offers a stimulating, safe and secure environment for individuals who suffer from mild to moderate memory loss. The Rehabilitation Center is able to meet clinical needs of individuals recovering from joint replacement, heart attack, stroke or an injury from a fall. Although this area of the campus is geared for post-hospital recovery, we do offer long-term placement, respite care, and end-of-life care as well.
Affordability
We offer a wide range of living and pricing options to suit virtually any budget. SCC is also a Family Care provider. Unlike many other senior housing communities, we do not require anyone to pay a large entrance fee up front--the only money you will need to put up front is a deposit equal to one month’s rent, period.
Amenities
Included in the rent are ALL utilities: gas, electric, water, air conditioning. Also included: cable television, 20 nights of fine dining (per person) for apartments and three meals a day for assisted living, housekeeping services every other week, individual storage locker, private USPS mail box, maintenance of apartment and grounds, social activities, regular shopping excursions, exercise classes, educational seminars, musical entertainment and galas, religious services, 24-hour security service, 24-hour wireless emergency response system, receptionist service, access to a social worker and wellness clinic and regularly scheduled health screenings.

Spirituality
Religious, activity and dietary staff members incorporate Shabbat and Jewish holiday observance and life cycle celebrations into daily campus life. The Community follows kosher dietary traditions. Non-kosher foods may be enjoyed in the residents’ apartments and designated areas throughout the campus. The Community employs a director of pastoral services and invites religious and spiritual community leaders to participate in Community programming. Programming is varied, including Shabbat services, Friday night dinners, holiday observances, guest lecturers, music and much more.
